FAQ
Here are some frequently asked questions clients ask me before a session. I hope this will help answer any questions or concerns you may have. You can always message, email, or call me. I want your session to be stress free, relaxed, and most importantly- fun!
Q: I am interested in scheduling a session. How do I book?
A: Email is the best way to contact me. Or fill out the contact form on the contact page. We can schedule a free phone consult if you have any questions.
Q: What do we wear for family sessions?
A: Something that will express who you are and most importantly something that you will feel comfortable in. Choose something flattering to your body type. Bright bold colors are fun. Neutral colors always look classic. For Family sessions, pick 3-4 colors. It's visually nice to have everyone wearing at least one color from your scheme. I strongly suggest not to wear all white or all black.
Q: What if my child doesn't behave? I approach children as if we are going to play rather than take pictures. I will try to get them into a pose or spot where I would like to photograph. If they want to go somewhere else, I will follow them. This is the fun part. I love the challenge of capturing their personalities and candids. So it is best if the child is the boss (just for this session). When they are happy and comfortable, it will show in the photos. Book your session when your child is happiest. This tends to be in the morning right after they wake up and are fed. Or, after their morning/afternoon nap. Also, bring some drinks, snacks, and possibly their favorite toy. I have stickers and bubbles with me at every session.
Q: The forecast predicts RAIN. Can we reschedule?
A: Absolutely. I will make time for you so you can have your session outdoors in nice weather. Overcast is fine for sessions. The only other time I would reschedule if it's too windy, too cold, or rain.
Q: What is your availability?
A: I schedule outdoor sessions on the evenings during the week Monday-Friday after 4pm. Saturday and Sunday are typically dedicated to Weddings and Events. If I do have a weekend date open, we would schedule an outdoor session after 4pm as well. In home sessions are available per request.
Q: When is the best time to have our session?
A: Lighting is best an hour and a half after sunrise and (my favorite) an hour and half before sun set. This is referred to the "golden hour." However, with little ones they are usually best to photograph after they are fed and well rested. This is usually in the morning or after their afternoon nap. That's fine. Remember- the child is the boss. I can work around whatever time frame is best for you. I've learned how to photograph in different types of lighting.
Q: Do you travel outside of Rhode Island?
A: Yes, I will travel up to an hour’s distance to meet you at your location. I will charge an additional $50 for distances more than an hour. $100 for distances over two hours.
Q: Are prints or digital files included in the investment?
A: All packages include anywhere from 3-25 digital images depending on your package. Additional images and products are available for an additional purchase.
Q: How will I receive my digital images?
A: I will email you a link and password to view your edited images. You will be able to download the edited images right from the site.
Q: Can you add the unedited images or RAW files to my link?
A: Unfortunately, I do not give out my unedited photos.
Q: When can I expect to see my edited gallery?
A: Anywhere between 7-10 days. October-November delivery may take up to three weeks.
Q: Can I post my images from our session on social media?
A: Yes. Please don't forget to tag Devine Reith Photography for photo credit.
Q: When are payments due?
A: 1/2 of the retainer is due at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due the day of your session.
